Job opportunity at SANGONeT: Training and Support Manager

The Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT) is a dynamic NGO providing
a wide range of information communication technology (ICT) services to
NGOs and other development organisations in the Southern African region.

SANGONeT seeks to appoint a Training and Support Manager for a major
multi-year Mobile Solutions for African Agriculture project.

The project aims to implement a number of mobile phone applications in
conjunction with four agricultural support organisations, to boost the
income of small-scale farmers and increase the effectiveness of
agricultural support programmes in Africa.

The position will be based in Johannesburg, with extensive travel
required in Southern and Eastern Africa. Appropriately qualified
candidates from Southern and Eastern Africa are invited to apply.

Responsibilities:

* Conceptualise, develop and manage the implementation of
training programmes to increase the successful use of mobile
applications amongst small-scale farmers;
* Develop (in conjunction with designers) suitable training
material aimed at a rural, low-literacy audience;
* Liaise with in-country partners around training schedules and
other logistics;
* Provide first-level support to agricultural support programme staff;
* Liaise with software developers to provide technical support to users.

Requirements:

* Relevant degree in a development, agriculture OR technology
related field;
* Minimum of three to five years experience in an NGO or similar
organisation, preferably with some experience of a rural environment;
* Training/facilitation qualification and/or extensive and
demonstrable experience in training and materials development;
* Interest in technology and development issues;
* Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;
* Ability to work and travel independently;
* Valid driverĀ's licence and passport.

SANGONeT offers a competitive salary, appropriate benefits and an

contract with a possibility of extension.
